About Us

Not too much to say (at least not yet)... no long list of credentials... just a story that's worth sharing. I'm Adam Vaughan. My wife, Kelly, will also be sharing. We have 6 children. Our two sons, Lincoln and Tucker, have gone to be with the Lord. The remaining four with us are Emmiline, Eloise, Elliott and Charli. Charli is a triplet. Her brothers Lincoln and Tucker are identical twins. They're dancing with Jesus right now, and they're not sad about it at all!

birds-eye

Ahhh....
To be like our little-winged friends perched on the land.
Frequent vistors of Hope's House.
Resting in shade and peeking for what lies beneath.
We love our back window view... breath-taking... especially in the spring.
Unlimited nature and beauty to be enjoyed... and we do.

The last few days have brought lingering visitations.
There have been no shortages of "ooh's" and "ahh's."
We have seeing eyes... staring straight...
Robins...
They do not work the earth.
They do not clothe themselves...
They do not create food...
They do not travel with U-hauls...
They simply live... search... sing... and soar...

I have much to learn from their small fragile stories...

Most days spent tempted to believe the lie that I make it all happen...
Warnings issued early to God's chosen in the wilderness...
Not to forget...
IT IS BY HIS HAND...
We are slaves no longer...
We were brought out so we could be brought into...
Chosen to be a treasure...
He blesses our fruits...
He blesses our ground...
He blesses us...
Not because of us... simply because of Him...

Like the Israelites... God sets His love on us and chooses us... because He loves us... THE END.

The Robin...
Small and mostly unnoticed...
Totally worth the studying...
The rusty red content to weather all seasons in the Orange state.
Not flashy but simplistically rich with color...
Eyes sharp and aware...
Mouth drawing out life from the thawed...
Indwelling lies a keenness, a sensitivity, a hunger... to pierce... to risk...
With the seeking they are filled and satisfied.

Back turned on all distraction... Envy has no space under it's wings...
Focused and mission-minded...
Eyes strategically placed for the seeing...
Earth giving way.
The simple beauty of a robin is just that...
Simple.
It's offerings... no hands can hold... yet so noteworthy.
In the springtime its song-gift can be heard all night long.
WORSHIP...
In the excess dark it sings.
Out of the overflow of being pregnant with song... choruses are birthed.

Learning a lot about me through creation's lens...
The 3 eldest princesses are enjoying final views over on Ridgegate Lane... soon new landscapes will be in focus.

Today... we sketch the beauty of the present...
And we remember...
It is Him that creates... calls and sustains...

The only thing more powerful than the Robin's unending song... is also it's snare....
It's own reflection.
Oh... this cuts and speaks...
Attacking it's own beauty... seeing only an enemy reflected in the light...  Forever fighting Eden's lies...

May it no longer be true of God's people... would be a remembering generation.
Ones that reclaim His beauty alive in us... caged birds no more...
FREE TO SOAR and SING!
