About Us

Not too much to say (at least not yet)... no long list of credentials... just a story that's worth sharing. I'm Adam Vaughan. My wife, Kelly, will also be sharing. We have 6 children. Our two sons, Lincoln and Tucker, have gone to be with the Lord. The remaining four with us are Emmiline, Eloise, Elliott and Charli. Charli is a triplet. Her brothers Lincoln and Tucker are identical twins. They're dancing with Jesus right now, and they're not sad about it at all!

needy

Back on the road again...
We headed for our new home.
Partaking in another long day of travel...
I tried to stay mindful of my present view.
Living in the unhurried means you get to watch others see...
A gift!

After about 60 hours on wheels...
You realize quickly...
Being bus-bound...
Reveals a whole new level neediness.

It's a healthy and important part of mission-learning.
One we might choose to do without...
But it's value is immeasurable.
It invites new levels of sharing...
The sweet...
As well as...
The messier sides of life.
The rain beat hard that morning...
Allowing us to experience new forms of African soil...
Thankful for able bodies...
And willing-brother hearts.
Sinking their feet...
Deep in the muck so our "little-bus that could..."
Might motion on.

Getting stuck...
Out of our control...
Staying stuck...
Not an option.
After a quick unload...
And some strong pushes...
We were back on our way...
Right as rain...
With winter days cutting light short...
We entered Chibuto's camp in the dark...
Headlamps our only source of seeing...
We set up bug huts and tried to "make house."

Worship was LOUD...
Celebrating our arrival.
Dinner ...
You guessed it...
Yummy rice and beans.
It was great to finally arrive.
My heart was beyond blessed by the intentional hearts and hands...
That tended to me like a sister.

And though moments of our day were quite needy...
We celebrated His promises fulfilled...
And we thanked Him...
For helping us arrive...
Right on time.
