About Us

Not too much to say (at least not yet)... no long list of credentials... just a story that's worth sharing. I'm Adam Vaughan. My wife, Kelly, will also be sharing. We have 6 children. Our two sons, Lincoln and Tucker, have gone to be with the Lord. The remaining four with us are Emmiline, Eloise, Elliott and Charli. Charli is a triplet. Her brothers Lincoln and Tucker are identical twins. They're dancing with Jesus right now, and they're not sad about it at all!

magic beans?

"He Himself is our peace."
Ephesians 2:14

In this world...
There are...
NO...
MAGIC...
BEANS!!!
We are called to grow in all types of weather...
Enjoying sun-filled days... enduring late night frosts.

Life...
The path can feel slippery and out of control...  splashes rise up...  blinding the seeing...

Always tempted to settle for artificial beauties...
When roads lined with life are always before us...
Each day filled with treasures... hardships... and juggling the big...
Thankful for the strong arms that hold me up and let me participate in His game.

For the body that fills in gaps...sharing laps with those missing their Daddy.
For little packages that remind me about joy and continual feasting... laughter and healing.
I want to be a woman that bears good fruit... IN EVERY SEASON...
Ripe for Kindgom purposes.

Remembering the narrow gate today... often feeling lonely but leading...
To the door of LIFE...

NOPE...
No magic beans...
Most days filled...
With simple whispers... nudges... and blurry shadows...
Like song-filled birds perched outside my window... easily missed or unnoticed...
The Father, The Son, and The Spirit long for us to take hold of the power they offer...
To trade our temporary fortunes for a new identity...
Gifts not immediately seen... but once digested into our soul...
The supernatural comes to life!
I don't know about you, but I'd pick His supernatural over magic any day!

No gimmicks for me... I NEED the peace of His presence.
Clinging to Him!

paupers portion

Realizing I have been much like the Saints of Old lately...
Shocked as I realized... I've been begging for a pauper's portion.
The Hopeful's have been crying out for Ridgegate to sell for over a half a year now...
Sensing last night freedom came in an unusual package...
It has been on its way for quite sometime... I just didn't recognize it in full.

Pastor and I entered into agreement that it was time to stop being like the Israelites... like paupers... it was time to live like the royals we are...
It's time to stop asking and begging for what He already knows we need and want...
Instead we ask for hearts and eyes that desire HIS BEST... and praise HIM for being so good and worthy of our trust.

He desires to give more than the half opened...
He uses small invitations to draw out the hidden...
Mouth and heart ready to pour affection...Tender hands guiding me out of confined spaces...
GREAT REST has flooded my heart.
A new rest... one that I am unfamiliar with...
It's like I have traded in asking for a man-appointed King.  A King that won't bring fulfillment.  My desire is for HIM and for HIM alone.

It won't be easy...  It won't always look pretty...
I will be tempted to return to what my soul has so faithfully cried out...
Thankful a lesser cry has been replaced by a greater one...
A cry of worship instead of worry.

If He is who He say's He is, then He is good and can be trusted.  He knows our needs and desires better than we can articulate.
Just like it would be crazy for Elliott to ask over and over again for daily provisions... it is crazy for me to repeatedly ask for the move and the sale.

REJOICING in the Victory of seeing and believing...
REST... it is upon me.
Change of focus just having shifted, I already see MORE...
My spirit sees with new clarity.
I am standing on truth...
I may lose my balance... but...I am NOT backing down... my hands are holding fast to my wild, royal garments.
Even now I am made aware that I have seen more supernatural activity in Hope's House since it's been on the market than any other time in my life...
If He had immediately given what I had asked for, I would have missed the Prince's portion...
I would have missed the better.  May it never be so...
So VERY thankful His ways are not my ways...

Today the light is different on Ridgegate.
The sun is shining with new expectation...
Recalling what I read as I drifted off to dream...
"God's timing is ALWAYS on time."

Yes and AMEN!

Not settling for Saul-Kings.
I have room for only one...
He is after my affection...
He won't relent until He has it all.

I have been asking the Father to bring release over the title of this house... now I pray the better.... release over the title of my heart!

You can have my ALL!

Still HOPING for the sale of our home...
More than ready to pack up the Hopeful's and embark on our journey towards Faith...
Just done with begging...
Today is filled with enough adventure of its own...
Gonna use these eyes to see what they have been missing...
Seeing... thinking... living and praying...
Outside the box... portions overflowing!

From Bud

5:30...
It's when the magic is supposed to happen.
This street's alive...
Everyone surfaces.
Spring's excitement is in the air.
The big... busily helping the small make appropriate calculations...
5:45
Still scooting around... still listening for the music...
This momma's heart swells... I actually find myself praying for the truck.
My ears strive to hear it's sound...

6:00 rolls around...
By appearances it was another "no show."
Good thing the Hopefuls don't live life by how things appear...

A few minutes after 6...
Just moments after the words were uttered from my spirit... I hear it...
I HEAR IT!
I don't know who is more excited me or them???

I yell like a maniac...
I scream...
I can't believe I am the only one who hears...

The smalls come running with giggles...
I share more sweet news...
This treat is on Pastor...
Though he is far away... tonight he will be sweetly present.
Childlike joy fills the air...
Hugs... given in abundance.
Feet fly towards the magical tune...
The tune that beckons every youthful heart to halt and come and taste...

Sure enough the melody makes its way...
It draws nearer and nearer to Hopeful's street...
Hearts race towards the waiting one's reward...
So many options...
Hands tightly grasped on what eyes have been fixed on for weeks...
Hope fulfilled is a tree of life bearing deliciousness for all who experience...
Especially the growing ones...
The driver of delights comments that next year will be her year...
She snickers...
Patience...
A hard theme in her life... and ours...

Thankful to learn from wise words today...
Words from my prince... freed up to expect...
"Momma, I hoped it did, and it did."
Simple words with big meaning.
He hoped with his heart, and it happened.
The end.
I should hang that one up...
It makes me smile.

Another showing is scheduled for tomorrow/Tuesday...
Clinging to hope...
Praying for the music to come...
Ready to hold the sweet in my hands...
To taste the reward of Hope...
So ready to enjoy the fruits of our trees... with Pastor... side by side.

LISTENING AND READY!

awaiting trucks

For the past two weeks this has been the view on Ridgegate.
On Monday at 5:30 you can find all the small fries in the cul-de-sac...
Living in GREAT expectation.
Abandoning vehicles of the afternoon-norm...
Costly treasure in hand... ready to trade...
In hope they wait...

Change... the only jingle these small hear...
Filled with longing they can taste... they imagine the tune... and dance...
More than ready they show up Monday after Monday.
No truck- filled treats.
They are resilient...
Bruised but not giving up...
They skate in colorful hope that...
Next Monday will surely deliver.

Game plans already in hand for today.
They do not entertain doubt or discouragement from the past.
They live in belief...

As I press on... showing after showing... I must learn from the small people on Ridgegate.
The sell didn't come when I was expecting, but... IT'S COMING.
And... you can be sure I am listening for the music...
Guarding truth today... especially when the heat of waiting brings fatigue...
Being homeschooled by Princess Emmiline...
As she keeps her hands alive with promised fortunes rolled up like a scroll...
I wrap my hands around promise filled paper worth more than gold...
Truth speaks...

I am not forgotten...
He sees the tastebuds of the Hopefuls.
He never disappoints.

Awaiting trucks over here...
Ones that bring moves and delights.

Risen indeed!

Lenten season dies...
Making way for the miracle that changes everything.
When what separates us from The Gift was torn in two...
The day blood-stained love became our covering...
Peace was made...
So we could bear His fragrance and enter rest.

Celebrating Resurrection gifts...
Love I can't explain but receive...
Joy I can't articulate but dance in...
Song I didn't write... but sing...

He is RISEN...
He is RISEN INDEED!

May blessings and favor pour upon your  Easter Sabbath,
The Hopefuls
